Safety Evaluation of Syzygium jambolanum on the Development of Zebrafish Embryos

Abstract: Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus, a hyperglycaemic condition that develops at the time of pregnancy, causes approximately 7% complications during pregnancies world wide. Syzygium jambolanum has been proved clinically for management mellitus and is being prescribed in pregnant women. Objectives: This study designed to evaluate safety mother tincture on development zebrafish embryos. Materials Methods: Zebrafish embryos were exposed 1%, 5% 10% with same concentration alcohol. Observations like mortality, hatching 24, 48 72 hr post fertilization yolk sac edema, length, eye width, pericardial edema heart rate recorded fertilization. The locomotor activity was 7 day Results: Results showed mortality treatment could be due alcohol as similar results observed also. Moreover, changes beat different reduced by indicating its possible protective role cardiac parameters. Conclusion: suggest low concentrations (1% 5%) embryo toxicity induced may attributed ethanol.
